Summer Travel

Summer is here and its arrival means warmer weather, more hours of daylight, and travel! While you're packing your bags and ready to gas up your vehicle, don't forget to make sure your vehicle is road-trip ready, too. Here are some tips to make your road trips this year the best one yet.

Follow these steps to plan for a great road-trip season

  • Check filters and fluids, including engine oil, power steering, and brake and transmission, as well as windshield washer solvent and antifreeze/coolant. Dirty air filters can waste gas and cause the engine to lose power.

Better Gas Mileage

Gas prices fluctuate over time, and throughout the counties, in the area, we are seeing various ranging prices. For the better of everyone, here are five tips to improve your fuel economy and save money at the pump!

  1. Check Tire Pressure: Keep tires properly inflated and improve gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent.

Your Car Battery

A car battery is a rechargeable cell in the SLI (starting-lighting-ignition) variety of batteries. They are also in the lead acid family of batteries.

The high power output of a car battery is necessary to supply a high current draw needed for the engine starter. A normal car battery provides about 12.6 volts and is divided into 6 separate cells; each cell produces about 2.1 volts per cell.

As the battery state of charge decreases the voltage produced also decreases.

Your Warranty, Your Way

Did you know: When you buy a car from a dealership, it is not mandatory to have it serviced where purchased – Nope, it doesn’t void the warranty.

Let’s break that down a little more; just because you bought your car from a dealership, doesn’t mean they have to work on it for you if you don’t want them to. You can take your own vehicle to any repair shop you feel comfortable with, and have them do the maintenance – If later you decide to go back to the original dealership and have them do maintenance, you can do that too!

Optimum Car Performance

A proper and routine tune-up allows your engine to work hand-in-hand with the rest of your car's powertrain. This is how optimum car performance is achieved. A well-tuned engine delivers the best balance of power and fuel economy and produces the lowest level of emissions. Modern engines compensate for worn parts to a degree, giving you the sense that everything is fine
